Short Trips

Chacala

This gorgeous beach-side town resembles Puerto Vallarta perhaps 30 years ago. It is paradise without the hippies of Sayulita and the Babyboomers of Old Town Vallarta.

Mayto

Beach Concierge may live to regret promoting this beautiful and isolated beach where the only thing to do is watch the waves slam against miles of un-littered beach. 2 hotels play host to the few tourists that venture the 2 hours south of Puerto Vallarta required to reach this breath taking paradise.

Mismaloya

Where the Famous Night of the Iguana was filmed. This once-gorgeous beach is a shadow of its former-self, but the river and the local seafood at the beachfront palm-thatched restaurants are worth the trip south.

San Sebastian del Oeste

Gorgeous. Colonial. Mexico at its core. There is absolutely nothing to do but marvel at this town that got lost in time.

Sayulita

This hippie-surfer village an hour north of Puerto Vallarta on the Riviera Nayarit can make for an amusing day trip or weeklong stay. Wide-backed surfers mingle with dreadlocked hippies with platinum credit cards, oh so bohemian. The infamous Chocó-Banana (aka Tracie Willies) serves up a wide array of local and gringo dishes at Sayulita’s favorite eatery.

Yelapa

This once isolated beach is the playground for locals and foreigners alike. It is said that Yelapa is the center of a strong spiritual vortex, whether that is true or not, the vast array of natural distractions - restaurants, waterfalls and spas will keep you busy. From high class to low budget.
